fender rolling angst
Ok guys, so I'm about to pick up a new set of wheels off of a buddy here on the forums, and he states that if you are lowered, you will need to roll your fenders to make these fit .
I've researced the concept of fender rolling and understand the purpose behind it, and that you are rolling the inner fender instead of any outer cosmetic enhancement. I guess what i'm really trying to figure out is, are their any 'cons' to rolling your fender (i would have it done with a professional fender rolling tool). Since i own a MY07, would there ever be a need to replace the fenders if i decided to sell the car down the road?? Along with that, any info regarding the process, or any pictures of already rolled fenders would be greatly appreciated by all the fender rolling newbs, myself included, thanks!

You won't need new fenders if you sell the car down the road because rolling your fenders won't affect appearance of the car. The only way that someone will notice is if they specifically look under your wheel arches.
The con is that rolling your fenders incorrectly can crack your paint (obviously pretty expensive to repaint 4 fenders). This can be prevented by using a heat gun to warm up your paint before rolling.
I've rolled the fenders on a previous car before but am apprehensive to do it on my S2k. I'm having a local shop roll it to be safe. Here's a link to a fender rolling tool on TireRack that has a link to the manual:

Does rolling the fronts require relocating/removing the fender liner? If a wheel fitment is close, will simply popping the fender liner to the top of the fender lip give enough clearance?

not only is paint cracking an issue, but the flatter you roll the lip, the more the outside of the fender lip will get distorted as well. It's slight, but it's there. (This is rears)
For the fronts, i think most people roll the tabs, sometimes they slightly pull the fronts out as well...this definitely changes the look of the fender, so if make sure you don't get the fronts (or rears) pulled at all if you are worried about retaining the stock look of the fenders.

cracking paint is ur number one enemy and next would be, if incase the person whos gonna do it isnt that experience especially on the s2000, is the waves and creases that it will create if done improperly...
if ur from cali, so cal that is, theres a guy here aka spanky sandoval(i hope i got his name right) can do really nice fender roll and slightly pull out without paint cracks..
one of his famous work was a NFR ap1 used to be own by silentdancer.
i am pretty sure someone here knows how to get a hold of this guy.
good luck
