Default Fixed Hardtop Rattle and squeaking

well my hardtop has been rattling real bad, and squeeking is really annoying. So i thought why not wrap the hooks (catchers) with electric tape..now ALL rattling and squeaking noise is GONE GONE !. Now when clamping down the catchers you can tell it has way better clamping tension. You also might want to check the screws underneath the catchers mine was half way out..almost completely falling out.. anyhow hope this helps..thought id share it with you guys. Driving is now THAT much more comfortable.

Sounds a lot like the fix of sliding a piece of rubber tubing over the hooks to create the same increased tension.

I'm not sure how long the tape will last...

Some others have put adhesive rubber on the receiving plate instead of the hooks to increase the "pull" as well.

Electrical tape will wear through in a couple cycles. And leave a sticky mess.
