Another diy would be going to Home deopot and getting an Air compressor filter which is rated at 5 micron by husky I believe it's $11.99 around that area and I use that as a catch can and works great, small too, then I went to Lowes because they have the clear tubing with flex string inside (clear tube with white x pattern shapes) as hoses from the valve cover to the filter then back into the intake manifold. As for the tubing home depot charges by pacakges but lowes you cut what you need, and this tubing I've seen in some honda tuning magazines that quite alot of people use this and has a clean look imo.

As for the ball bearings to block off the throttle body coolant mod, first let me say save yourself the trouble and just install one bearing and that's just the hose near the valve cover to the throttle body because the other hose I guarantee you will rip or you will crack it trying to bend it back into that very very tight space, 1 will just do as it's limiting coolant flow or stopping it and the other bearing shouldn't do much as it's just capping off the return line so install 1 and save yourself the trouble, To get the bearings home depot and lowes does not have them you should try to find a local hardware store I know that ACE hardware sells them I paid under $1 for both.

I'm considering my next mod to be Titanium Blue burnt exhaust tips as I've read in a post a long time ago if you take a torch and burn in circular motion until read then the tips will have that burn exhaust tip look too. Not too sure yet.

lol^^^i weld all the time and trust me it wont turn blue like that it will turn a dark black then if u polish it out i turns brown

So putting on a 245/35/16 tire on the stock wheel would really change the gearing that much? So it would really feel better then buying a 4.44 gear set? If so that is an extremely cheap mod. Going with a narrower tire would sacrifice some traction but staying with a 245 but just smaller profile should be no problem. Am I missing anything here?

I'm not talking about welding, I'm talking about burning and it will not turn black there is a thread somewhere, just search and you'll see what I me, he used a regular torch I think it was propane and did it in circles until it turned glowing red and let it cool then it was a blue burnt look.

I totally forgot to mention one of the first things I did to my S. DIY seat locks. Buying the seat locks from Kodokan is by far the best and more expensive option, but I wanted to do something cheap and quick. Went to a large nut/bolt retailer here in Arizona. I asked them for some security bolts (i had torx head, or star in mind) but they didn't know where to get them.... I dunno wtf the deal is, this place specializes in nuts and bolts, if anyone should know it should be them. Anyway they ended up giving me some allen head bolts with the same threads as my oem for free, better than nothing I guess. This will atleast throw the little bastard thieves off, as they probably wont have allens with them on their seat stealing adventure. You can take it a step further and fill the bolt heads with jb weld if you don't mind drilling them out to remove the seats(which is rare for the average owner).

Make sure you get the concave shaped heads so they cant be clamped.

Nope not missing anything. Being lowered is nice however, other wise you will have more wheel gap on the stock suspension. Also Toyo t1r is the only tire that is being made in this size, it is a special size that allot of the Miata track guys use. I have a pair of them on AP1 wheels for sale. Tires are almost new if anyone is interested. Also you will be reducing about 5pound in rubber per tire compared to most of the 225/50/16 tires on the market, which is a very noticeable improvement to be paired with your 4.48 gear ratio. acceleration/ braking time and lightness in handling are improved and felt by myself. I don't know of anyone else who has run these tires. I can't think of anyone on s2ki that has explored tire sizing for these reasons at all. I feel like kind of a pioneer in some respect, its too bad because there are some more tools in the bag for tuning options if people cared to try them.
