I am coming from an invidia v3 so I am looking for slim to no drone. I don't want to lose any hp. If i gain 3 or so that is fine. Right now I am mainly interested in sound. I am saving for a KW supercharger.

Dude read the damn title of the youtube video!!!!

BERK TEST PIPE!!!! That is where all the raspy and hollow sound is coming from, which is inherent from test pipes!!!

Come on man..................
I have the berk test pipe and it sounds EXACTLY the same as stock, a test pipe alone will NOT cause that kind of sound.

Seriously you must have some bad hearing than. I had the Invidia test pipe and it gave me a hollow sound, sort of like a 350Z or G35. It has been very widely known that test pipe in addition to the stock exhaust will give you that sound.......look it up

To the OP, please do some searched on pre-muffler removal and the effects of using a test pipe sound wise, and you will get exactly what I have posted.

neither imo just cut out the center section of your oem ( leave the mufflers) and replace with a straight pipe for about $80.00 at your local muffler shop. no hastle from cops, tone you want. Also you can get the tone you are looking for from an intake alone. when your in the drivers seat, you hear that more than the exhaust. Comptech or something along those lines.

Cutting out the resonator is definitely a GREAT thing to do for the price. I have K&N FIPK and res removed and I have the lovely deep sound I wanted. I don't want this to be ANYMORE louder or I'd go crazy. I considered for a long time about exhaust, but seriously not worth it unless you are into performance. But then for performance, if you stay NA, exhaust really won't give you anything, not to mention dual.

Unsprung weight is definitely a factor, but each exhaust he is speaking of our made out of stainless steel which in no way is considered a super light material. The OP mentioned he was going after sound, and if sound is all he wants the pre-muffler cut out would give him what he is looking for.

If he wanted performance, sound, and weight savings, he would be looking in other areas such as T1R, Spoon, or the like.
Um... how is an exhaust "unsprung weight????" Unsprung weight is weight that is not supported by the suspension. Your exhaust does not qualify.

Most stainless aftermarket systems are alot lighter than the OEM aluminized systmes mainly because of the muffler design.

OEM stuff generally uses really thick wall steel on their exhausts because they dont ever want them to rust through even in salty environments. Aftermarket stuff is never that over-engineered as it is usually trying to maximize performance/weight--not product life. This is pretty universal across automobiles, not just our cars.

I already removed the resonator and installed a straight pipe. I want a little more sound. That is why I am leaning towards the tanabe medalion touring. I have heard great things and I love the way it looks.
