^pretty sure spoon is a cone filter, but that one is foam so very free flowing and suppose to be not that great and filtering
K&N You could probably get one that is bigger than stock size since you've already cut the baffle. I myself have the stock K&N, since I bought it before I modified the airbox.
As for lid on or off. Imho, I think there is a ever-so-slight power loss with the cover off, but it sounds soooo nice when you are ripping it!

free flowing means more dirty getting in and if its oil base.. ur map sensors can get clogged over time.. can affect performance in the long run

well nothing is wrong with my stock filter..just kept reading old posts about people running a gutted airbox with a K&N filter so I figured I should go the same route..

i guess it has to do with me working for a toyota dealership for a while.. i seen too many toyotas come in with codes and a messed up MAF sensor due to all these K&N.. my tool box is filled with every K&N for every toyota lol most are pretty new.. so from the store it was over oiled .. even back in 05 i installed a AEM intake system with an oiled filter (94 accord).. never had issues with the MAP sensor.. cleaned and oiled like 3 times since than.. but just recently i guess i over oiled or just over the years the MAP sensor got plugged.. no codes but my gas mileage went from 400 miles a tank to 200.. and finally i got a code.. i just cleaned it out and works since.. if anything that flows more will decrease filtration. if i had to go with one. it would be a dry filter.. AEM has one.. looks nice
