i have been in touch with them, and they said that both brands, EZ on and robbins, uses HAARTZ brand fabris. they said the robbins is better, but that both meet a minimal spec for quality. so...the EZ on will work? how could it be worse, people say it fits bad, but i highly doubt it. It usually seems to be user error.

maybe ill go with an EZon Stayfast. heck, i dont even need a defroster, i live in FL and car is garage kept

amazing that everyone owns an s2k. and no one has opinions on the soft top other than the people who say...GO FACTORY! after market, besides robbins. why are the others cheaper? seems like everyone has no complaints about any of them.

i think i'll be ordering EZon

EZone is a good brand. I have installed quite a few of these tops on s2ks and tons on different cars. I have also installed Robbins tops on s2ks and others as well. And i have installed OEM tops on many cars as well. I think that aftermarket tops fit a bit better and you have the choice of many colors. For the cost, quality, and longjevity i would get aftermarket. Just make sure the company installing, if you arnt installing it, will use the brand you get.

Good luck.

I bought the EZ-on from topsonline.com through ebay, I think, and it was I'd say 80% of stock quality. Most people that see it on the car think it's about 90% or better, but I know where to look having installed it. I haven't seen a Robbins in person, that I know of, but everyone tells me they are as good as stock.

The install is painful but not too difficult to do shadetree... but I definitely recommend getting someone experienced to help you. I'd consider myself a mechanical expert but maybe one notch above noob on body work. It obviously lacked some features that would make it as easy to install as stock (such as pre-punched holes for the leading edge trim) but it was worth the cost savings.

I think I paid $400 shipped for mine? Glass window, no defrost.

In the end I would say it was worth it, but it may have been worth it for me to go with a Robbins. Hell, I'd suggest buying a used softtop that someone removes (frame and all) just to save time and hassle. If you can find one in good shape, that is.

For the rivets, I bought a cheap Harbor Freight one and bought the Honda rivets. I'm sure other rivets would work (and be a hell of a lot cheaper) but I didn't want to dork around with finding the right rivets after installing it and having a problem.

On the detailed specs- the factory shop manual doesn't offer much, I used one of the guides I found online as well as the one put together by clovis from the NoTx forum.
