I do plan on tracking the car which is why i am researching this bar. I will probably end up going with just the removable diagonal. Sense i plan on using oem seats and belts i will not need the removable harness bar.

Great thread - I'm looking at doing the same.

I'm 6'4" though, so I'm a little taller. Let us know which solution you go with.

 

I'm tall too, so I went with the single bend double diagonal bar that sits a bit further back on the ledge. It does interfere with the bulkhead because of this.
Only pic I've found that shows the difference...

 

I am 5'10" and i rather not cut anything so i am planning on going with the double. This way i will only have to make the cut on each rear wheel well. Everything else that would normally be cut to fit back in will be left out.

I did read somewhere that it is possible to lower your OEM seats an inch or so without buying different rails... but i am not 100% on that.

 

Without buying rails, the seat pan is hammered up...

You have to drill some holes.
Step 6 is denting the pan to lower it. I didn't want to go that route.

I hate to say it but even though the hard dog looks very well made and structural it is just ugly the way everything has to be gutted and there is no cover plate available

 

Agreed. It's function over form to a degree.
I'm planning on deleting the console compartments, but building carpeted panels with jute or dynamat underneath to give it a finished look.
