Default Harnesses without a roll cage?

I was watching the touge video where the orange Amuse s2000 is racing the green D1 S15 and in one of the shots where they talk to Tsuchiya you can see the Takata harnesses but it seems as though there isn't a roll cage or harness bar in the car except for the factory roll hoops. I know it's a big no-no to mount harnesses in a car without proper roll protection but I guess they figure the hardtop is enough. My question is if anyone knows what they did or would have an idea on how it could be done. I figured maybe they bolted some eye bolts into a strong factory point or something.

There is no "factory hard point" that could be used for secure mounting of shoulder harnesses. There's just nothing back there behind the seats that I would trust my life to.

Could you secure off the roll hoops? IMO I wouldn't harness it up unless it's a cage and securely fastened... you just gotta think about what's gonna help you in a crash...

Not safely (IMO). They aren't designed to take such a big load in a forward direction. The factory belts actually load them in a sidewise direction.

f you look closely you can see that the harness on his right shoulder is twisted as if it's hooked up to the factory point. I wouldn't trust anything but a harness bar either but I was thinking maybe if you drilled and welded eye bolts to the factory hoops it would be sufficient but it's still sketchy.

I forget who... Someone makes a bar that you can mount a harness to without a rollbar. Anyone recall who makes this piece?

Yeah they are a popular modification on the Evo's, friend is looking at one... I don't think anyone makes one for the s2000, you'll just have to go for a roll bar to be safe... Cusco be ok or not? As isn't it sold as an aesthetic piece only??
