Default Header and Test Pipe only?

I saw a video on Youtube of an S that had just a header and test pipe with stock exhaust.

Just wondering if this is still going to warrant a few extra ponies or if its pointless without a new more free flowing exhaust?

What kind of HP gains are likely from just a Header and Test Pipe?

And lastly, what is a more common brand of header or test pipe? Ive been looking at Berk lately or Invidia.....any suggestions?

thanks

i'm keeping the stock exhaust 'cause i don't want a loud annoying sound. the bottleneck is the cat so the testpipe is a good start...

I think the stock exhaust manifold is more engineered them most after market header applications. I would just get rid of the CAT

berk has 'em going for 'bout a hundred bucks. i went with the berk high flow cat so i'd have at least one car with a cat and not have damn soot all over the rear bumper. also, the high flow cat is two fifty which is higher than the test pipe cost but it only dynos one horsepower/torque less than the test pipe...

Your engine will last longer. I have the Invidia test pipe.

And who makes a good one? Dont really care what it costs because I truely believe you get what you pay for!

Definately get the berk test pipe. I gained a 7whp gain on a back to back dyno with just the test pipe on stock exhaust and stock header. Costs half of the high flow cat and weighs less. Test pipe comes with a CEL fix too. Not one negative thing to say about it.
