Default Headers, exhaust, intake? help.

just purchased my ap1 with 46k on it!!! from a nice old couple. <3 honda4life

okay so to find a straight answer on this topic after reading other discusions with not so concluding answers.

heres what ive been looking at so far was the private label nitrate coated header claims 5-15hp gain for around 500 shipped.

i figure i might need a test pipe but i know the existing cat is high flow.

now exhaust i really prefer single over dual, i figured i try to go lightweight not that it would make a huge differance but
i really like the idea of the j's 70rr or 60 with the turndown pipe can probably find for around 1300 or less shipped.

i pretty much want to keep it na with some just decent bolt ons, as s2k's allready have plenty of fun power, just want to tune a lil more
i plan maybe to go itb's someday with a ems or ems2

what do you guys think, funtion over form ftw? lol

exhaust side, the cat is the first bottleneck, so get a highflowcat or a straightpipe.

i really want to put nice parts instead of a bunch of inexpensive stuff not saying that inexpensive doesnt always mean no quality performance.

whats would be the recomended high flow cats or test pipes, dont some of the exhaust systems go from header back like the 70rr

i heard a lot of good feed back from from pml
but stock headers for s2000 are great and its kinda a waste of money to swap it out,

the intake and exhaust will give you a LITTLE bit more power
like 4hp haha but it sounds really nice,
so get mods for sounds cause bolt ons dont really help the s
but there is some extra power made

you want bang for your buck go w/Berk at least for the header and high flow cat or test pipe

as far as catback exhausts a lot of them are very similar...that's just personal preference and slight price differences

Search, sift through the BS and make a decision.

If you want nice and your spending $1300 you might as well get an Asura honestly. Then again, it is a bit loud (in a wonderful way). Of course this conversation will erupt into a subjective argument. Listen to sound clips; although if you actually want power you'll wanna go the full 3", as long as you're not afraid of [beautiful] noise.

As far as intake goes, I'd say unquestionably bang for buck goes to the K&N FiPK. It's also one of the best performers until you jump up into $900 price intakes.

Header: PLM is ricey, honestly. Bang for buck maybe the T1R 4-2-1 header if you're not in CA as the cheapest 'good' header. The PLM doesn't really give you any room to tune with, what you get is what you get more or less.
