Default help= installing AP1 titanium Shift knob on AP2

So i just picked up a Titanium OEM shift knob from someone that had an ap1 - i went to screw it on my ap2 and for the life of me i cant get the numbers to line up right .. they are always facing the wrong way if i screw the knob all the way on .

are the ap1 OEM titanium knobs not supposed to work on the ap2 ? ..

i know it kinda seems like a dumb thread but id really like to use the knob but if i put it on all the way the numbers are facing sideways instead of the right way

thanks

put the locknut on the threads before the knob, screw the knob down as low as you can while still keeping the numbers straight, then back the locknut up to the point where it's holding the knob in place.

if you want it "lower", you can leave the locknut off and put some blue threadlocker on the threads. screw ithe knob on and let it dry overnight. the thread locker is available for a couple of bucks at any auto parts store

if you decide to NOT use the nut...stuff some paper or something on the thread and screw it on til it gets tight.

well first off i decided to just keep the stock knob.. i didnt really like the feel of the titanium one ... and as for

"DIS IS TOO FUNNY" ... not sure why that is .. you say use "lock-tight" .. though its actually LOCTITE but thats beside the point ... i want to be able to take the shift knob off if i decide i dont like it .. so using an adhesive such as that is probably more of a permenant fix rather then a temporary one

but thanks for ure useless reply
