Thumbs up Help! 15mm Wheel Spacer Install

Purchased a set of Kics 15mm wheel spacers and I did a test fit today, and to me I don't understand the design of these. It seems that there isn't enough thread for the lugs to secure properly. I was only able to get about 4-5 turns on the lugs.

If anyone has installed similar spacers, please chime in and lend me a hand.

Thanks,
Adam

I've never used this product, but the problem is the original studs sticking out of the adapter. I found a seller

http://www.frsport.com/Project-Kics-5120W1...ead_p_3028.html

who states:

"10mm and 15mm Spacers will require space on the wheels for the original studs. 20mm and up might need space, but it depends on the original studs length. ( If it has been swapped out for extended studs, etc.)"

Some wheels have space for those studs (I believe AP2 v1 and v2 do) but some don't (AP2 v3).

Are you talking about the factory studs being too short or the spacer's studs? If the spacer's studs are too short, you have to drive them out and install longer ones, or get thinner wheels. They where probably for thinner wheels.

Sgt B,

The problem is that the studs from the car's hub are sticking out from the spacer surface; this prevents the wheel from fitting flush against the spacer, rendering the studs in the spacer too short.

He's either going to have to put recesses in the mounting face of his wheels so the studs from the hub fit into the recesses, or cut the studs in the hub so they're below the surface of the spacer. Either way, the surface of the wheel needs to contact the face of the spacer.

Longer studs in the spacer will result in his wheel making contact only with the tips of the 5 studs in the hub rather than the whole face of the spacer. Not acceptable, in my opinion.

yes this is a problem, but something Kics warns you about in a leaflet included with the spacers. Some rims have pockets that would allow you to mount as is, and some don't.

I knew that i wanted to use 20mm kics spacers, however my CE28s do not have the pockets in the hub. I measured the stock studs at roughly 23mm...not wanting to cut the oem studs, i ended up getting the 25mm spacer so the stock studs would not protrude from the face of the spacer.

Only way to get past this issue is to cut the stock studs down, use wheels w/ the pockets in the hub, get a larger spacer, or use extended studs with a 15mm spacer.
