Honda S2000 and other Honda OEM knobs
Thank you, I missed the part that one's a different material which explains the price difference. But it's strange that they would mark it as "not compatible" as far as fitment goes.
Thank you again.
Thank you again.
Your seller likely just uses info derived from a "where used" type of search on some sort of MRP software. The 200B knob comes up as a part that doesn't appear on S2000 Bill Of Materials.
"Not Compatible" (I just made the sound of a stamp being used).
Easy explanation, no?
You're not buying from an enthusiast site or something.

Which makes even more sense. To a dealer or other oem supplier, Not Compatible simply means wasn't an original part for that vehicle. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't fit and function as good or better than parts listed as Compatible.
Also...engineers are massively picky. They may have designed the S2000 knob to meet an exacting ergonomic and visual spec.
They make knobs of different weights, shapes, and finishes for a reason. It fits the look and ergonomics of the specific car. Otherwise there would just be one shift knob. And then the communists have won.
Like....if there was a power window switch that had completely different fonts and colours on it and it was meant to match the look of a Civic's interior...but it fit the S2000 door panel....they wouldn't list it as compatible to a S2000. For good reason. One of which is that if you bought it, you might be mad at them about why tf it looks so out of place. And you might question their standards.

Yes?
Yes.
The problem has been solved, so we are beating a dead shift knob. But...
You shouldn't be surprised at all. Form, fit, function. They all have to meet the intent.
If you want to learn about what parts happen to cross over....you'd need to find a good enthusiast site (like this one) or do your own fitment check.
