Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
Hey Guys. I own a 04' AP2 and have seen many people buy and install the hondata Intake manifold gasket when they remove the Intake manifold for any reason. Just curious what its purpose is, if anyone has done It and what they think and if it's worth it. Thanks!

Not worth the hassle if not removing, then again have read gasket failure,a wild guess the manifold is rather heavy for the material used.
Have thermal TB gasket on mine, have moved the IAT sensor into intake tube in same position as 06^ MY

Purpose, isolate heat transfer from block to im. Hot im means heated intake air, means less dense intake mixture, means less power and less crisp throttle response.
Reality, excellent in theory, but it seems this aftermarket gasket is trouble prone. Not only a lot of work to install, many report issues of eventual vacuum leaks at gasket and need to frequently retorque im bolts to correct. It seems the product works well at first, but the loss of sealing eventually occurs.

I have had mine for 5+ years without issues. Make sure you drill a hole in the bleed location by runner 1. It makes it possible to burp the coolant system, or at least make it SIGNIFICANTLY easier.
