Default Hood struts

I'm looking to get a set of hood struts for the car. My wire-prop will be decommissioned soon due to the intake I'm getting later this month.

I'd like an idea as to what works and what doesn't, and any pointers people might have regarding these. I've heard of full pressure and halve pressure sets, and I'm aware of a few brands, but know nothing about them.

I am installing on an OEM hood.

P.S. I tried using search, but it's not working.

Thanks in advance,

Mountain-man

Yes, I am installing that intake. Your reply sounds like you had a crappy experience with it though...

I'm aware of the difficulties/problems people have had with it. I've done a lot of reading on it and made up my mind.

Please keep it on topic though. Hood struts, not intake. Should anyone want to comment on the intake, feel free to PM me.

I just installed the Science of Speed set. Beautifully crafted and with the constrained billet hood mount it won't rotate/loosen off over time. They've got a wide opening angle so working on the car with the hood on is no problem.
There is a bunch more info on the scienceofspeed.com website.

Cool. Thanks for the input guys. Just as a side comment, I'd like to apologize if my second post read a bit cross. I had no intention of being a jerk there.

Do these hood struts allow the hood to be opened at the standard height that the wire-prop does, or do they open it to the upper height? Do they have a function that allows both positions to be used? (or more appropriately one or the other?)

I have the carbon Fiber NRG hood struts and my hood opens almost at 90 degrees. it makes oil changes alot easier with a 5qt jug.
