Default How to remove steering column covers?

I have unscrewed the three screws on the bottom. I can get the front unclipped. But something is hanging up the rears. I've tried to push the sides forward, back and side to side, while trying to separate the two halves of the steering column cover. I have given some force, but trying to stay below the plastic breaking level of pressure. What is back there that is holding the two halves together?

Picture below pointing to where I can't seem to get it unlatched. This is obviously someone else's car!

(When I say "rears" I mean when looking at the steering wheel. Rears are away from me. I know that some people speak of front and back as the same direction as the car, which would be opposite of what I've said here)
