Great write up from Cyclon36, thanks for sharing. As someone who used this write up the first time I replaced an S2k top it has most everything needed to get the job done. Since then, I've replaced well over 100 S2K tops.

I would suggest however that you correct your OEM pricing, MSRP $1340 or $900 from Majestic, or at least make a note that the price is for the material only. The total install from a dealer and most trim shops on average will be in the $2500 range.

if you want a quality top for less money, Robbins is a tried and true alternative. I would recommend cloth vs the oem vinyl. The cloth has a better look and feel to it and is often viewed as an upgrade over the oem vinyl.

Topsonline is a large top supplier here. Ask for Vic ( not sure if Seta is still there) and tell him you are from S2ki. A member from Texas set the path years ago. Anyone know which Robbins top to buy for a MY2001 that previously had the Clovis mod done? The previous owner converted it to a heated glass rear window with an OEM 2002+ soft top and the Clovis mod with elastic straps to ensure the frame folds correctly. Not sure if a 2002+ Robbins top will work with this setup.
