Is there a way to make the Hardtop Defroster Harness from a MY00 work on a MY04....

Or is it just easier to purchase new hardware..

From what I understand, no. My hardware kit (that came with my hardtop from Hardtopguy) included both types of harnesses. They looked very different.

 

Ok.. cool.. im planning on picking up a HT and want my defroster to work.. i know the top will fit and hardware but wasnt sure on the defroster part. i want it to work...

 

When you pick up the hardtop, it should come with a "kit" of parts you need to install it on pretty much any year. If I remember correctly, mine came with:
Hardtop (obviously)
Extra hardtop strikers
Side catchers
Side "brushes"
2 sets of defroster harnesses
Random bolts, screws, etc
Instructions
....and a big gigantic box filled with enough packing for the hardtop to be dropped from a 10 story building and be safe.
