Thumbs up Individual Throttle Body

Well I was going to purchase one I see them on ebay (OBX) but I dont care for the brand.. Other than that are they a good mod to have.. and what kind of gain am I looking at.. Should it not be used for a daily driver.. (due to small rocks or dust that might get in?)

Cheap Ebay (Also looking around for other types) -

The link you posted leads to a bored OEM throttle body and not the ITBs.

Anyhow, there are individual filter elements that can be installed so no rocks or other debris enters the engine but this will make performance suffer. I would run this setup only on a car that I plan on racing. Other than that, if you want more power for street DD, look at the supercharger or turbocharger kits for your car or gears for faster acceleration (Cheap and effective mod).

Just a quick question for the OP. Are you aware that you have to run a tuned EMS to run ITB's? These arent just direct bolt on. If you go to the Naturally Aspirated section on here there is tons of info on the individual throttle bodies, even a whole topic on the OBX ones. If your really wanting to stay NA and get some extra hp go for it, but if your looking for any big gains just save the money and go FI.

Thanks and great info, I will look into it.. I was not aware, I just started to look into them... That's why I'm asking about them 1st... I was also thinking of going Fi .. Had some great results when I built my Lude.. Was thinking of going the same route.. Just really getting some ideas..

Yes sir. You will need quite a bit of supporting mods to see some good gains with ITBS. Even then its not like your going to gain 100hp from them. By the time you buy everything and get it tuned you will be over halfway to a turbo or supercharger set-up. Some guys get the ITBS b/c they are NA guys and keep it that way, but the most logical way to get power from our cars is FI, so thats what I would recommend.

Just wanted to add that I think a properly built and tuned ITB stroker setup is superior to FI.
