I was thinking a good mod for my car would be to put a larger diameter throttle body in my car. Has any body done this, and would there be any HP gains.

 

If you're stock little to no gains. Throttle response is the only difference. TB really only makes sense for FI.(or really heavy NA mods) TB really isn't much of a restriction without significant intake system changes.

 

Bigger Tb not just increase the response of the engine, this also benefits you more mid-range power. If you have the basics like I/H/E then you will see improvements for sure.

 

This has been reported done quite a few times already.
Investment in time and money = BIG.
Gains = virtually ZERO.
People couldn't get these things off fast enough or sell them to guys with F.I.

 

I just installed an Erick's Racing 72-70mm TB and had it port matched (and other manifold work by Alaniz). I have a I/H/E setup on my car at the moment. Throttle responce is GREATLY improved and I can feel more power especially in the mid/vtec range. I am getting my car dynoed June 1st, no previous dyno numbers to compare it to...
