^^^ most metal polishes should be able to get it out. When i first got my car my tips were burnt black and yellow to the point where polish wouldn't even make a dent in it. I ended up using very fine sand paper and wet sanded it off before repolishing to a shine.

Put some antiseize on the bolts, a tip wax your exhaust tips cause they will become dirty soon and the wax will make it easy for it to wipe off. the install is straight forward and you'll enjoy it, sounds like a 350z/g35
Thanks for the tip! Yeah my S is pretty much a weekend / sunny day car. I also live in MN so it's in storage for 5-6 months out of the year. I got a couple requests for a short writeup with pics so I'll post that up when I'm done.

My exhaust tips are stained because of my TP and I would love to know what product or technique will restore the shine to them

It just makes the car look a little dirtier so follow that advice about the wax
wheel cleaner gets all the gunk off like butter with a rag.. the exhaust tips actually clean up much easier than the wheels.

wax your bumper as well because the crap that sticks to your exhaust pipes will also likely stick to your bumper
