aem v2, sounds way cooler, but if it rains, you better have another car to drive. If this is your daily driver get FIPK, also the fipk fills that empty space in the engine bay once you take the air box out, and well, makes it look cooler, i would have gotten that if it came in red piping. but i didnt, i just moddified my aem to be like a FIPK ^_^

I agree with the rest. I love my FIPK II. I have mine mated with an AUT cooling plate.

What do you think the gains are with the AUT cooling plate + FIPK 2 vs. AUT cooling plate + K&N filter utilizing the stock box?

I did have this plate with the OEM airbox, so its sorta hard to judge or compare it since the FIPK is a whole different animal compared to the oem box gutted/insulated and a K&N drop in. It feels like it pulls harder in vtec, and plus it sounds crazy. I know for sure I got better throttle response and have a little more power. Although the OEM box wasnt bad at all, the FIPK dominates it imo. I also never tried the FIPK without this cooling panel, so I cant compare how it was before and after. I know it probably isnt a noticable difference, but I know it does shove fresh air in there when at speeds. So it does benfit it.

I think this answer REALLY depends on what year model you have. If you have an '06+, then you need to get a FlashPro before anything else, and get the car tuned. Once it's tuned properly, you will NOT like the FIPK intake at all, since VTEC doesn't sound as good at 4K as it does at 6K.

I have an '04. Going to get intake, header, HFC, exhaust. I'm still debating if the price of a good EMS (Hondata or AEM) is justifiable given the gains that I'm looking at.

Your thoughts?

It wouldn't really be fair to hijack this thread. If this question is directed to me, it would be better in a PM. If it was directed to the forum, it needs to be a different thread.

FIPK, BPI stack and AUT plate for the win. Love my combo.

If you plan on getting tuned, go with a CAI. A CAI along with a tune, will show huge midrange gains. I didn't feel like going through the hassle every time the filter needed cleaning.

Bpi stack? Do CAI's suffer from heat bogging at low rpm?

I'd say eBay. I bought my AUT cooling plate from there which I'm still waiting for it to be delivered. Also, that's where I found the lowest price on the FIPK ver. 2 which I have yet to buy though.
