No....don't get a cold air intake....get anything except a cold air intake....you'll hydrolock your motor for sure.

^^ sarcasm due to previous hydrolock threads

Check the Injen CAI with the hydroguard filter cover. Also, when installing keep the fender liners in place and don't cut more plastic away than you need to.

xoz, Im sorry bro, but nothing would ever convince me to put that PRM on my car. Its drawing air from a hot space, the engine bay. Especially when you are standing still. I would need some kind of heat shield on an intake like that before I ever used it.

don't be sorry to me bro, but suggest do some more research before blah, blah.. Haven't had any problem with heat soak.

Yeah I love my PRM intake. Yes it gets some heatsoak when sitting still but my K&N FIPK was just as bad even though it had the heatshield and stuff. The PRM get's quite a bit of cool air when moving and that's all that matters. I've had about 5 different intake set-ups and i'm keeping my PRM.

Another intake thread??

Btw, no offense to anyone.. But the PRM intake just looks weird to me.. I'd suggest you get a CT icebox intake or a K&N FiPK.. I've had experience witg both of those and they are pretty comparable power wise.. K&N wins the sound contest between those two also..

i had a prm intake before i was supercharged and i bought it again after i was supercharged. i like it that much. the design of the prm intake is the easiest to convert to a cold air tube (without the hydrolock) due to the in-line filter, rather than a tube with a filter at the end. just insert tube and route it. that was my original plan but the shorty with zero chance of hydrolock and the superloud vtec is just too much to give up. i wouldn't write off prm due to "heat soak" though. intake air temp studies on cai vs sri shows that cai's have more power at stoplights/at idle but once the car is moving the filter location is irrelevant/minute between the two.
