It's inside of that main black tube (with the PRM letters on it), it's a cone filter and is pretty much the whole length of that black tube. It's also a K&N type filter that you clean with a K&N cleaning kit so you don't have to replace it.

i got the aemv2 cai and its great, i love it

upside of aem=no heat soak
downside of aem=hydrolock
- i dont think hydrolocking isnt that big of a issue, if you make the umbrella which takes 2 mins
you will be fine.
Umbrella wont stop it from hydrolocking if its submerged but a AEM bypass valve will...

I think you should get Mugen intake, stock airbox works great.

hmm when i installed the aem v2 on my car,
the bottom of the filter is around 1/3 of the tire haha
its up there pretty good

from the ground to the base of the filter maybe 8 inches or a foot
if you have the plug i think it would be drivable in that rain xD
but i wouldnt risk it haha
