Intake, w. filter in place of air pump
I'm thinking of trying to fabricate an intake, that starts with a filter, in place of the air pump. Which sits right under the driver side headlight (LHD vehicles) and routes up to the TB.
I wonder if manufactures like AEM and Injen designed their intake to route to the other side, since the air pump would be in the way if they routed them to the right. Of course this would only make sense if you have the airpump removed. Or maybe there isn't any space, I haven't looked yet.
Has anyone attempted this? my search came back w. nothing

The issue with running the intake down to the left side of the bumper is that it shortens the run length. While that might seem like a benefit, it probably isn't. The length of the intake tube sets the RPM where the intake will create a "resonant hump" in torque. The long "filter on a stick" intakes that go to the right side of the bumper create a resonant hump at about 3500 RPMs.
