Default J's ETD install

I have bought the Puddy mount for it but he didn't know what way the bolts go. I have 2 bolts , nuts, a lock washer and a washer sleeve thingy does any one know what way to install them. Does the washer thingy go on VTEC side and if so what side of the bolt and also split washer. also is there a better way to install the bolts? also does the parts inside the ETD need replacing?

Any help would be great thanks guys

Larry

The puddymount uses two bolts from your fuse box to mount. Mount it under your two fuse box mounts.

For the J's ETD the longer bolt goes on the shock tower side and the shorter one mounts to the Vtec solenoid side.

The strange looking washer mounts on the Vtec solenoid side. It mounts in this order cap nut, strange looking washer, bracket, then washer.

You probably put the regular washer between each bolt and bracket on each side.

There is no internal moving part in the J's ETD. Nothing needs to be replaced.

Where did you bought the Puddy mount? The guy who sold me the ETD never gave me the puddy mount, so mine is still in the garage shelf for 2 years now. Please let me know.

Fyi I would not recommend the puddymod mount if you drive the car aggressively or if you have a strong clutch. The fusebox mounts are not very strong and will bend or break very easily. The inner mount that is welded to the strut tower broke on my car in about 5 months with my spoon etd. Get the heavy duty mount that bolts to the top of the strut tower if you want it to last. By the way I have a stage 4 clutch so that could have been part of the problem. I have since sold mine as it really didn't seem to do anything.

If you did pull a properly installed PM mount off the shock tower the engine mount(s) would have had to rip right off as well. Some type of catastrophic event would have had to accrue to have this happen. It may also be that the shock tower tab was rusted and broke off

No one has ever reported an issue such as this, ever!!

An ETD is NOT a replacement for a engine mounting system. If you rip your factory engine mounts off you will more than likely also rip off your engine damper too.

Holy S$!T i was expect this to be simple install dam those bolts are a bitch. The part of the J's that connects to the puddy mount is almost impossible for me to get my hands in there I had to cut my 6mm allen to about 3" long and then still took me over an hour to do it lol. But it is done and wont have to be done again. Puddy give great support called and picked up after 2 rings and gave me some great advice, install ETD on the mount before installing mount in the car
