I installed one a couple of months ago and was not sure about the increased airflow requiring a ECU reset as I have read is recommended with CAI.
Thanks

I don't think you have to for the filter, but you should for the Intake. The intake would be worth it if you want 1)minimal gains of 4-5hp. 2)Awesome noise while in vtec 3) cleaned up engine bay. Whether that is worth $200 is your decision. I would also try searching "fipk" instead of K&N because its actually called the K&N FIPK Intake.

I have the K&N FIPK intake system sitting at home. I will install it after I do a baseline dyno first. Hopefully I will go this weekend to do the baseline.

I agree with oakfloor. Reseting every once in a while is good. IMO, reset your ECU after any mod to the motor. Run it hard after for the best results.
As far as K&N's dyno sheet, it may be a little stretched. It's possible AP2's could do better... would love to see an AP2 before and after dyno runs.
I love mine. It made a big difference in throttle response and mind range TQ.
After adding exhaust, vtech smoothed out a lot and picked up a little more TQ.
Reflash next...!

I just put a K&N filter in the stock airbox and it does give a nice deep growl at low RPM, I didn't notice too much of a difference in sound as the revs got higher.
