K&N Filter or Performance Intake Kit?
i have the K&N FIPK II - not sure which part# it was, but get that one. (i think they made some minor tweaks to the parts installed with it). the sound is awesome, no headaches for changing the filter or worrying about hydrolock or annoying install like a cold air system, and there is a mild performance gain. (i'd say maybe 4-6HP at most, and some top end gain at high speeds). i also added DEI heat sticker wrap to the entire outside of the black cover it comes with, makes quite a nice improvement. temps in the box/on the filter are noticeably less.
I just did the drop in filter from K&N, it cost $62 at Advance. I haven't had a chance to drive the car with alot of "spirit" since putting it in but around town it adds a nice growl at lower RPMs.
