Default K&N FIPK air temperature sensor?

I just finished installing the FIPK in my 06 and I didnt drill a hole for the air temperature sensor cause I couldn't find one (tried asking everyone). Will there be any problem if I just leave it hanging?

Don't you have an '00 AP1? If so, then your IAT sensor is mounted in the intake manifold.

EDIT: so I see that you installed it in an '06. If you leave the IAT sensor hanging, your fuel trims will be all over the place, and open loop will run even more lean than it would if it was installed correctly. You really need to install that sucker!

BTW, what couldn't you find? Your statement really doesn't make sense. What would be left hanging if you couldn't even find the sensor?

i used a zipline to tied it together but I was just wondering if it will create problems beside being all tangled

You probably won't be able to use vtec because your car can't monitor the air temps..

Just a guess.. But I'm sure that's going to effect the car in that way..

Thats like asking "i left the fuel gauge sensor out, will my fuel gauge work?"

You need the IAT in there! I really would NOT be driving with it off, its probably reading the engine bay temp. If its reading too high, you're probably throwing a crap load of gas into the engine to cool down the air charge.

If the IAT sensor reads hotter than it really is, then the ECU will reduce fuel to compensate for reduced oxygen content, which will result in a leaner mixture.
