He's talking about the CAI, not the FIPK

for u to hydrolock, ur filter needs to basically be submerged. ive ran cai with no problem.

if you see a huge ass puddle that you cannot avoid, turn off ur car and just roll until you clear it. driving a car with cai isnt much hassle.

the second you turn off your car, you lose vac. assist brakes (after first pump), power steering. Is it worth it?

Its already on my car, and I mean yeah, I'd slow down before of it ever happened. If I got a different intake for free I'd switch them out. For now, I feel im ok

I ran a cai on all my hondas and never had an issue, I avoid large puddles. the filter has an oil on it to keep water out if some splashes it. If you submerge it your screwed.

Yeah I've been good for the most part.

So what is it about the FIPK that makes it hydrolock-proof?

Can water still drip onto the filter from above it, such as through the hole that everyone keeps mentioning?

It's two and a half feet of the ground and directly underneath the hood of the car.

No. Do a Google image search and you can clearly see that the FIPK is located under the hood. CAI's that feed from the fender are directly under the hole that drips onto the filter.
