Default Keyless Transmitter / Remote Programming 2004 S2000

After losing my spare key and remote, I purchased a new key blank and my dealer cut it and it works fine. The dealer was unsuccessful programming my remote purchased from hondapartsnow.com part number 08E51-S0X-1M0G1.

My car is mostly stock without an aftermarket alarm, but I do have an upgraded audio system. (I read somewhere there is button on the stock radio that has something to do with the alarm? There may even be a button on the stock head unit that has to do with programming remote / transmitter?)

I asked the dealer to give it a try when the car was in for service since I tried all the procedures online unsuccessfully. (They did the same thing I did - doors closed and unlocked, key off to fully on, press lock button, repeat until locks respond. Nothing for me or them.)

So, hondapartsnow.com refuses to take the transmitter back because it is "electrical". Pretty ridiculous to lose a customer over $35, especially if the remote they sent turns out to be the wrong part!

Anybody have any fix for this?

Check Id number on remote. The one that works with s2000 is here somewhere. I'll see if I can find for you.

There are differant remotes for security system (optional) or remote entry system (standard). So make sure what your car has and get appropriate remote. They are not interchangeable except for some circumstances.

Thanks for your response. Let know the number/codes, etc...

Also, please confirm programming instructions if you have that.

Thanks.

Just looked at the back of my remote for my '09. Letters are small and worn but looks like: p/n SET35011-KA, Tx 72147-KA
FCC ID E4EG8DJ

Thanks Langelo Demysterioso. I managed to find one with all the numbers on the back matching my remote that I still have on ebay and all is well. The "new" one functions just as it should.
