Let's Talk Splitters
My Original AP1 bumper was damaged causing the OEM lip and a DIY splitter to be damaged, needless to say I'm replacing the front bumper. I've just received a new Voltex bumper and am looking to make a splitter for this as well, however I would want to use rods to reinforce the splitter. All the pictures I've seen that actually have a description or some comment with them are showing the rods attached to the bumper itself. When I see this I somewhat laugh as you are hoping to support your splitter with basic plastic, although nobody has made comments about it.
Long story short, what's the best place to attach rods to on the front? My first guess would be somewhere along the lines of the metal bar behind the front bumper, but I feel like the rods may be a little long at that point or that you would have to cut the bumper (which wouldn't bother me any). Anyone have any input on this?
