The weight difference of the lightest exhaust vs. OEM isn't even as large as the weight difference between a full tank of gas and a tank that's almost empty.

Do you notice that difference?

yes, you can. Just ask anyone here who frequents track events.

so if you loose 40 lbs you gain about 3.6 whp
Joke or not but this is how inaccurate data gets quoted.

Losing weight reduces HP/LB ratio. It does not increase WHP.

You stated you auto cross. If you are a national competitor and the extra weight will help you cut down on tenths of a second then do it. However, you probably don't so I would take the Tanabe (sounds great) and spend the money else wear to improve your car. (Front Sway Bar, Tires, Suspension, etc)

^^^ Come on ---

Any person that would read the above to mean that loosing weight will make your actual WHP physically get higher...

well, it serves them right.

I think you have to expect a minimal minimal intelligence on this site.

You should hang out in the Racing and Competition forums a bit..
you might learn something...

Although there are people talking about "vortex generators" and "powerneo magnets" on their fuel line adding horse power...
So you may be right.
