Default Looking for brake pad recommendations

Hey all,

I've done a good amount of searching on this subject but wanted to run it by a few other S2000 owners.

So I've been running Stoptech street performance pads for a bit now but I'm not thrilled on the initial bite and they haven't seemed to work as well when I switched to the Direzza Z3.

I am looking for a pad with strong initial bite and can tolerate a bit more heat than the stoptechs. I do not track the car, just spirited driving.

I am not concerned about rotor wear or dust nor do I daily drive the car.

edit: I am currently looking at the Project Mu HC800+, Fedoro DS2500, and Hawk HP+. I don't have any brand preference.

Thanks!

HP+ is exactly what you're looking for...but not sure they make them anymore.

Its a low temp pad with huge bite. The dust is corrosive...and they make a little noise.

RIP to your wheels. But they work really well as a non-track performance pad.

I enjoy the bite of Hawk HP+ much over stock, they were great to have for spirited drives on the dragon and surrounding roads, never felt any fade driving through the hills. But the NOISE! They squeal, loudly.
Lots of dust too...

After a 5 day trip to the Dragon:

And cleaned:

Try the Stoptech Sport pads. Their streets are mediocre at best. They are on par with autopart store pads. If noise and dust aren't much concern, Carbotech AX-6 have phenomenal bite and hold up extremely well during spirited driving.

I run both the for Ferodo DS 2500 and DS 3000. I’m fairly happy with the initial bite of both pads. The DS 2500 is my touring pad and the DS 3000 is my trackpad. They generate a substantial amount of dust but it washes off easily with the pressure wash. It is not corrosive like a Hawk pads.

Stoptech Sport = Stoptech Street Performance that OP is already using.

Theu recently renamed it to "Sport".

Their "Street" pad is semi metallic...and probably has better initial bite than the "Sport"

Might be a little confusion on the nomenclature since there were changes in Stoptech's lineup. As far as I know, there is still a spearate street and sport pad.

OP, are you referring to the 308's (street pads) or 309's (sport pads)?

noodels you should at least have the sport pads then (309's). I think the street pads are basically to appease the masses who believe they drive aggressively for street commute driving. The sport pads can be used for daily use and work well for spirited (canyon/mountain) driving. I wouldn't recommend the sports for anything more than that though.
