309 = "Sport" and "Street Performance" (former name).

309's are an organic, "high temp" pad. They don't come alive until you heat them up. They also need re-bedding from time to time. This is why a lot of people complain about the weak initial bite.

308 = "Street". Repackaged Centric Semi-Metallic

Since 308's are semi metallic, they will actually feel like performance pads. They are fine for low temp use (spirited street driving, autocross, etc).

Typically, if you want low temp bite with *decent* elevated temp performance, you'd buy a plain jane, consumer grade semi-metallic pad like the 308.

Yes I am referring to the 309. That's the first time I've heard of them needing to be re-bed. I will give that a shot when we get a nice day out.

Carbotech AX-6 front and rear pads. Excellent cold bite and not a track pad.
Not a rotor friendly pad either. To seat the pad you will need to get the pads to fade and then your done.

OEM pads in the rear. Spend the money up front. The fronts do 70% of the braking and 100% of the breaking(rotors).

HP+ bites good for daily driving. Just way too dusty though.

Not that I know of, from what I read it is the HC+ that was discontinued and replaced with the HC+800

Factory (genuine Honda) AP1/Civic Si pads are probably as good as it gets for this application.
