Default low profile floor jacks

I know there has been a several threads about low profile floor jacks. I am in the market to buy one. But after looking at sears.com, there are countless complaints about craftman. Inaddition, amazon.com has complaint about torin low profile jack also. It seems like they do not last longer than a year of normal use. Anyone has recommendation of other reliable brands.

clark, have not hear anything about this product

Ive used Big Red jacks in the past (not the specific model shown) and I did not like it at all. The hydraulics in it didn't last very long. Im looking for a low profile jack also I think im going to go with craftsman

I'd recommend the American Forged&Foundation low profile jack.

I have both, #2 and #3. Both are excellent, and haven't failed me once.

I have a large craftsman low pro model.

I have it stored out in a shed that is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. I don't do any maintenance on it and I let people borrow it so it gets banged around sometimes.

It has never leaked or failed. It seems very well built.

I think I caught it on sale at Sears for $99

I have the Craftsman big red. Nothing but trouble. First the pin that someone else mentioned earlier broke. I used a twisted paperclip to fix it and it has worked since then. Lately the jack has stopped working ocassionally, the pump handle stops working (just pumps with no resistence) every 3-4 pumps. If you live in the DC area you can swing by and get my Big Red for free.

I have a US General (3k lb limit, 16" rise IIRC) and it has been a workhorse for several years. No problems but I could wish for a finer pressure release (difficult to crack it open without going too open).
