Yeah that's just for an LS1 engine though too. On a local craigslist in my area someone has a full LS1 with 50k on it with an auto tranny and ECU/Wire harness all for $5500. That seems like a good deal with decent mileage, but then you still have to get a bunch of parts to support the power and torque. Then add the cost of all the other smaller parts and the cost to fabricate things, it adds up pretty darn quick.

True, but it depends on your timeframe for the build. The point is you can source a cheap engine, then watch the forums and ebay for cheap "supporting parts."

My friend swapped an LS2 into his FD and it took a him a year, but 450hp in a beautiful car is worth it.

Yeah it is possible to find great deals, but it's going to take time.

A guy I know did an LS1 swap into his FD also, and that thing is a beast. I could only wish I had torque like that in the s2k haha. Just to much time/money for me though.

Not trying to threadjack here, but how different is the feel of the S2000 with an LS1 in it as opposed to the F20c/F22c?
None, Its the exact same feel. Same power, same weight. No thing changes...

Why stop there? If you have to custom fab stuff, go for LS3!

hahah yeah was wondering lol. A lot of the LS engines are really not much heavier at all than the stock engine. Maybe like 50-75 lbs I think.

Get an LS2000, it was built for the S2000.
