Megan anti bumpsteer kit
hey guys i posted a thread awhile about this and i cant find it now. I just got an alignment done today with -2.6 Left rear and -2.4 right rear and they are saying they cant get my toe less then .45 in the rear. i dont want that much toe at all. is this normal? im about 1.7 inches lower in the rear and 1.4 up front. im on 17x9 +45 in the rear so i need this much camber with the tire i am running. should i buy a megan anti bumpsteer kit? will this allow me to go to 0 total toe in the rear or even .2 toe. i need help asap. thanks guys. i think the reason i slide out last night is because my total toe in the rear was .87!!!
You need someone else doing your alignment. If they rotate the factory cam to reduce toe they need to rotate the cam for camber the opposite direction. There is a TON of toe adjustment in the rear of these cars. I was slammed and had no problem setting toe to something decent. Camber is the only issue (because I choose to run only a little. If I wanted -3.0 to -4.5 degrees I had it!)
With that much toe I wouldn't expect 8-10k miles out of your tires. This needs to be resolved ASAP. You want a little positive rear toe. It helps stabilize the car. .16 to .28 is factory AP1 spec (I know .16 is the bottom, pretty sure .29 is where that alignment screen turns red) .25 is what Honda says is perfect but with those camber numbers I'd run something closer to .10 In the end I think total toe should be .25 (1/4) inch in the rear for you. I run .20 total but I want my tires to last so I only run -1.2 camber for the rear. Excessive camber and normal toe will wear the tires badly.

yeah i am going to go somewhere else. ive had nothing but problems with this place. at first they said they couldnt adjust the caster cause it was stuck, then next time i went back they said they got the caster right this time. its been a headache. when they adjusted the toe in the rear it screwed my camber settings up at first then i was like woah hold on a sec. my camber was -2.5 and then -2.1. with .3 total toe. i was like no, i was about -2.5 on both. with .2 toe. he said he played around with it and couldnt get it. it seems like he was not doing what you where saying you should do. is firestone a good place to get an alignment? i know they have the lifetime unlimited alignments
I think it just depends on the person doing the alignment no matter where you go. If you mess with toe in the rear it changes camber and vise-verse applies for all. Messing with camber changes toe. I'm not sure they will offer you think lifetime alignment special since your car won't be in OEM specs. You'll just have to see what they say. Caster is probably the easiest thing to change but it will affect your ability to set front toe and camber if you have someone that's not good at alignments. I was reading another guy on here saying front camber wouldn't go in. If the tech would have backed the caster off it would have went into the spec he wanted. Both sides of your car need to be close to even. -2.1 and -2.5 is not acceptable. -2.5 and -2.4 is okay.
