Default Modify Dash

Hi All:

Back for some more advice from my favorite S2K Forum!

I have a 2003 S2K with a greddy turbo kit. My car was missing the passenger-side airbag, so I recently purchased one from a fellow S2Ki member. What I'd like to do is the following:

Modify the pass-side airbag cover to raise and lower depending on the position of the ignition key. I assume this could be accomplished by wiring linear actuators to the ignition harness.

Inside of the airbag compartment which is hollowed out, I'd like a compartment to be built to house gauges to monitor my turbo/engine: oil pressure, water temp, whatever...

If anyone knows of a talented stereo shop that could do such a project please let me know. I am located in OC/SD area in SoCal.

Thanks,

I think he means the car came without a airbag so instead of puttin that in he is going to put gauges in there!.... thats is a very good idea! curious to see how it come out!

You can build an 'elevator' using metal parts from home depot. From there, a few electric actuators should do the trick. Gotta be designed from ground up though. Stereo shop I assume they would charge a pretty penny!

Gents:

To clarify my point, I bought an airbag and airbag cover (attached) and plan to have the shop only utilize the cover for the project. Where the airbag normally goes, will be a fiberglass compartment, custom-built for my gauges.

Hope that makes sense...

Again, if anyone knows of a good shop in OC or SD, please advise.

Thanks!!

No, the airbag itself will not be installed. Just the airbag cover.

Thanks for the pointers, but this car is my most prized possession. I'd give my liver to ensure that everything was done with the utmost class and precision. A trip by me to Home Depot is not in my future...at least not for the S2k.
