I've always found that intake/header has made a noticable increase in torque on smaller 4 bangers. I don't know if it correlates on the dyno, but it definitely is felt on the butt dyno. I'd guess maybe 5-8 hp from both?

I've also found that exhausts on similar engines tend to kill low end torque for the most part.

What are you talking about? Cars LOVE that stuff, just pour it right in the coolant, and you'll probably triple your torque.
