You quite possibly are losing power without the intake box. A stock S2000 loses power without the airbox lid.

Don't get a lighter flywheel...you'll be sorry.

An AP2 transmission OR a shorter final drive (4.44, 4.57, 4.77) is a good upgrade...though 4.57 is the sweet spot but very rare. Neither will give you more power, but will help with acceleration...but it will drone on the highway.

As for a header, unless you're spending $1,000 there really isn't anything out there that's going to add power...even spending $1,000 you may get 5HP in a narrow range. As for exhaust, pick whatever. I have CT, but others will make more power at the expense of noise and drone.

Spending money to make this car faster is kind of a waste...you can spend $2,000 and get a car only slightly faster...or slightly slower depending on what you got. Then you have to tune it all right and at that point you're almost $4,000...with a car only slightly faster. Combine that with gears and you're at even more money.

I kept my car stock, but when I wanted to make it faster I went big and got a supercharger for 120HP more.

the intake is fine, no need to waste additional money for marginal gains.
flywheel on a ap1 is already pretty light but you could go like competition clutch ultralite
for gear changes and differential upgrades talk to Puddymod

header is a tricky subject IMO. the idea is to get major area under the curve rather than peak power. you wont be getting much more peak power out of the car unless you do some major motor work. if you want the best youll have to go custom ie hytech which are made to order, fairly expensive, and have a long wait time.

if i were you, i would get a 'tuning solution', a testpipe, and some dyno time.

If you are running the Comptech intake without the box, you could be losing power. The intake is designed to work with the box, and to funnel the air between the fender and radiator into the intake. Not to mention engine heat soak which is a high possibility with open filter intake in the engine bay. So you are losing both the ram air effect and also sucking in hoter air. Id look to possible creating a diversion type plate like the K&N intake or look in the classified for someone selling only the box.

Gains for a header are minimal for what you pay, however what you do gain is a huge weight savings over stock...pick one without your budget that also works with your application.

Get A carbon fibre hood to release the hot air and its also a weight reduction. Dont get heat rapped headers, it creats moiste and start to rust over period of time,
the sad part you wont no cause you cant see. Best solution get them coated.
