Default My car stinks!

Hey Guys,

Just installed a Tanabe Concept G and a Berk HFC onto my S. It sounds pretty wicked and the car feels a bit more powerful. Could be psychological HP gains though! My problem now is it STINKS! I assume this will go away with time. But I was wondering how long it might take. I really don't drive the car very often and am thinking I might need to take a long road trip just to get rid of the smell. My wife was complaining yesterday after my first test drive because the smell was coming into the house from the garage! I've put high flow cats and exhaust systems on Mustangs in the past and never had this problem so was just hoping from some insight from you guys. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Jeff

I had a burning type smell when I put my exhaust on. Cat in place though, and OEM header.. It went away shortly after the install.

HAHA! I wouldn't mind fried chicken smell! Mine is more of a chemical smell. Toxic. The Tanabe instructions said the new packing material they use in the mufflers would smoke, and it did quite a bit when I first drove it. I have a feeling that is where the smell is coming from and hopefully will dissipate over time.

maybe its the martial in the cat just breaking in. it should go away in a couple hundred miles of driving but if it doesnt sell it and buy a tp haha. i got a header back and it smell like nothing. invdia tp and greddy se. and when it does smell "occasionally" its the smell of burned gas which smells great to me haha. kinda weird but i love that smell along with the smell of gas.
