Napa clutch

Napa clutch
So the other day my throwout bearing went bad and apparently it damaged the clutch. So I brought the S to a local garage and they ordered a clutch kit from NAPA. Now i understand the s2000 clutch is made by Exedy. Napa said it was OEM which means it should be Exedy right? Or does napa make their own?

Yeah, The OEM clutch is not made by Exedy. Unless they (NAPA) are buying the parts directly from a Honda dealer, then they aren't OEM parts. They're probably buying Exedy parts which are "OEM replacement" but IMO don't belong on the car. I've seen too many pictures of failed Exedy clutch discs and failed aftermarket TO bearings.
If it were my car, I would go buy real Honda parts from a local dealer or Majestic. Tell that shop to return their NAPA parts and bring them the real stuff to use. I'd also be very cautious about the shop knowing what they're getting themselves into. Make sure they don't break your knock sensor when getting at the top starter bolt. And that they actually torque stuff back properly instead of slamming everything with a pneumatic impact.

I hate that whole "OEM Replacement" crap, had a friend get an auto zone clutch installed and i swear that thing was done so fast. That would be bottom line auto zone but still titled with "OEM Replacement"
