Default New guy with silly questions.

Alright Gents. im very new to the s2k platform. had my car a week tomorrow. but i have some questions. and im sorry for the noob crap (trust me i saw stuff like this every day on my old forum) but this platform has a killer support. and im just trying to find the top of the line for the price kinda stuff. so first off

the dreaded intake question. Which would you guys recommend? i dont have 500 to drop on a piece of tubing. but im not afraid to spend a little more than average for the best thing on my tier. With my eclipse we had literally 3 brands to chose from. and the only thing different about them was the prices. all the same gains. all the same sound.

Next one; Exhaust note. again same as above. i want something tuner style (no fart cannon for me please). i like the Berk exhaust, but that is hellaciously loud. and im not looking to attract that sort of attention at night lol. but i like the tone and i would like something with a bit more of a rumble (for those who havent heard it)

also, would like a fual outlet, cat back system (damn you emissions...) if possible and helps narrow the search down.

this one is not so important, but how would i get my engine bay to look like this? ive looked for covers and deletes of the parts and what not in there but ive found nothing of the sort yet. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...28451483_n.jpg

it looks as if hes had to move and re route all of the harnesses and electrical stuff which. im not sure if i would even want to. but some nice looking covers id be fine with that achieve the same (somewhat) effect

lastly for now. i have a set of Enkei Imolas. 18x8 with a +40 offset. tires areeeee.... 235/45/18 (i believe). Will i rub if i put them on? and will i cause any issues due to the staggering from the stock set up? ive red yes and no on both parts, and i just want a direct answer lol. ive studied the fitment guide on here. and the ap1 recommends no less than a +43 offset. which was odd to me but ive read that people as low as a +37 offset have had no issues (granted this is the internet)

lower priced intakes are aem, injen, etc. you'll often see a lot of used ones for sale if you stalk the classified section.

the berk is loud as hell(i have one and thinking about getting rid of it) and it doesnt come in a dual, theres lots of exhaust reviews if you do a search.

if youre stock height, those wheels will fit with no issues, lot of people run x9 with 255's though.

if youre lowered, it all depends on how much of a roll/flare you have on your fenders to fit whatever wheel you want.

there really isnt a if this or that will fit, there are many factors in getting wheels to fit, ride height/tire size/wheel width and offset.

ive been looking at the injen. very good brand with the eclipse, i can only imagine better quality on a better car. and i agree. i did find the exhaust thread and that helped a bit but none of the sound clips were functioning anymore. kinda sucked but at least i saw a good portion of what was on the market. at... ridiculous prices lol

and thats awesome. im stock height and all. i dont plan on lowering (clevelands roads are garbage) i just want my sexy spokes back. i dont really like the ones that i bought her with. 16s and some black on chrome stuff i couldnt even tell you the brand. but thanks for the response man

If all your looking for is a better sound from the exhaust, I would save the money and just do a UK exhaust mod.
Here is a car from Sacramento with the mod

and here is the post

That sounded awesome
I'm not quite sure what the concept is though. I read they cut out the back boxes (no idea what that is) and bypassed a something or other (at work right now). Care to give me the skinny in layman's terms lol

Just scroll down and see the pic
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/962...d/page__st__25
They add a pipe(28mm, 32mm, 38mm or 45mm, the bigger the pipe the louder the car gets. Most go with the 32 or 38mm pipe but even with the 45mm pipe its still not as loud as most if not all aftermarket exhaust. Plus you don't get any added drone with this mod. Any exhaust shop can do this, just take a pic with you and show them what you want done. It should not cost more than a C note, most pay less than that.
