Noise coming from steering
Hey guys, a few months after I got my car lowered on Espelir springs, I started getting a loud noise whenever I turn the steering wheel on the car. Left or Right, it mkes a squeeking sound.
I didn't wnana take it to the dealer beacuse I figured they saw the car lowered and say screw your warranty.
In any case I took it to get something taken care of with the top today and asked them to check out the sound while it was there.
I figured it was just soemthing that needed to be lubed up, but they say that the tech says its coming from the rack and pinion and that its more than likely the springs adding stress to it.
The noise has gotten worse and worse over the last 6 months or so since its been lowered.
The dealer says they're not going to replace the rack and pinion beacuse its an expensive job and they dont know if thats going to fix it.
They recommend me putting the stock springs back on.
Obviously I dont want to lose my drop here.
Has anyone else got this problem? or know what could be causing it?
My car is still under warranty, if the rack and pinion is the problem, can they void the warranty on that rack and piinion becouse of the the springs??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i've never heard of any lowering that messed up the rack. Ive been driving mine for over 80k miles with a drop. maybe your springs are not sitting properly on the perch and its moving when you turn the wheel...
yea the tech says the noise is coming from "inside the racK'
but aparently they have no way of knowing unless they replace it altogether.
the service manager said they aren't just going to throw parts at it beacuse theres aparently nothing to service, it would just be a replacement, an expensive job that they're not willing to do under warranty since its been lowered.
When i get it back i'm going to take it to the shop that I got to put the springs in and have them look at it.
seeing if the springs are sitting properly, is that something that a tech can easily look at and see?
