Default NOOB

Hey guys, what's up? I'm Nick I just bought a CLEANNNN 05 S2. I was just wondering what were some good parts to start out to make a little more power. I've heard that people are making more power with the stock airbox rather than an intake and other little tricks like that. I wanna do a couple quick things like a hondata gasket and such to get a cheap 10 to 15. any thoughts on a few easy mods? Thanks

depends on what your end goal is, if you never going to build for high horsepower, i would go with cold air intake, tp, exhaust. if planning on big power don't waste money on a cai because you will be replacing it later. and a greddy e-manage (or ulitimate) is pretty cheap and gives off good gains i think for the money, plus it makes everything else you put on that much better.

Thanks guys. I'll eventually go ultimate racing or inline pro turbo set up in a couple years, but for now it's gonna be my daily driver, so I just want it clean and simple. I'm definately dropping it like next week. I think skunk2's cause it can go down alot. 2" inches wouldn't be too much for DD you think? Anyways, I love these cars. i miss my SRT-4 torque monster, but S2's are just sick wit it.

Well if you know you are going to be boosting later on then just maybe save your money till then....Maybe just look for a 2nd hand test pipe and intake to get some better sound.. (as long as the CAI is 2nd hand and cheap that is).. Trust me a CAI makes a difference.. With just a CAI I would pull on my buddies stock s2000 (same year and everything).. Best advice I could give is to do mods that will help you later down the road instead of buying stuff now and just trying to sell it later...Get mods that you will keep on the car.. Just IMO

Yeah, that's how I was with my srt-4. I think I'm just gonna lower it, do a few clean accessories, exhaust, wheels ect. Then, when I build it it's gonna be a 35r for sure, with a dump, like 500 or 600 stock internals. So you guys think a SRI will gain more vs. stock airbox and filter or just go CAI. I don't wanna have to cut stuff.

Thanks, I'm pumped about this purchase these forums are so much cooler than srtforums. They're all prics

Really, no...Can't be.

Go for the CAI...SRI won't do much but add noise...unless you add a snorkel.
I would go the route of upgrading the wheels, suspension, brakes, and looks if you're going the forced induction route. Maybe get an exhaust that you know you will keep because it would work good with your F/I plans.

Good Luck...Remember, the S was built to corner...unlike some other cars.
