Default Decat & Exhaust

Hi all!

I'm fitting a K&N gen 2, which I've read up is a good filter for the price.

I am also planning on doing a decat and exhaust.

What Im wondering is, is the decat the same as a test pipe?

If I add the following mods, will I expect any power gains, or will I need to get it mapped to adapt to the modifications.

A friend said it may run lean if I add the above mods, and lose power, so want to check these things through before I go any further.

Sorry for the long- winded questions, I'm a noob on Honda lumps, Ive come over from a 300+ bhp Mk1 Focus RS.

Decat = test pipe. It removes the cat and adds a straight pipe. The car may run lean, and should gain a few horsepower.

i had a test pipe until recently.. its quite a noticable power gain. the cold-air intake and exhaust not so much.

any idea if the drop in knn is a good air filter replacement or should , one just save a bit more and just by the short ram knn intake?

Air filters won't gain power, but a "good" CAI will give gains. The TP and a "good" exhaust will make it run leaner while making more power. If you have an AP1, it will still run richer than optimum.

Fitted my FIPK Gen2 K&N today.

Next on the list is the decat and exhaust.

Only had the car 4 days.

Its an 06, so AP2
