OEM '00 car radio Serial Number
Dear all,
I just bought an OEM car radio from a '00 S2000 for mine, which is from the same year.
The seller lost the code, so I need to find the SN#.
The procedure with the 1 and 6 buttons then turn ON doesn't works, it doesn't display anything. All the tutorials fit for the '02 until '09 models;
I have got the VIN of the car.
It looks like there is another procedure for the '99/'01 cars, could someone confirm me that?
Anybody has any information about how to find this serial number ?
Thank you very much,
Ulysse

Does the radio display CODE when you turn it on? The 1-6 + On press won't work unless it does that (according to the Service Manual). Then with the radio Off the 1 & 6 keys need to be depressed and held down followed by turning the radio On (looks like it may take two hands). Code should appear in two 4-digit sequences. This how you're doing it?
Serial number is usually on the unit somewhere. From the photo it looks mounted in the car so you may have to pull it.

And yes this is how I do : radio OFF -> press the 1+6 and while that turn ON the radio.
nothing happens except the radio turning on.
there is a S/N etched on the case, but doesn’t starts by 2 or 3 like every Honda SN according to my Honda workshop.

I'm beginning to suspect this may be a radio from a different Honda.
Photo (off Ebay) of a S2000 radio/tuner Part number 39101-s2a-a110-M1 which is correct for 00-03 model years. Note the placement of the 1 to 6 numbers matches the Service Manual illustration.
CD only, no cassette tape. One of our historians may know if there was ever a cassette tape option in the S2000 radio.
Shows serial CDB 2400 5757. I'm guessing the last 8 digits are what should be displayed.
Is there a label like this? What's the part number? Google the part number and see what radio it is.
