OEM hardtop installed with softtop removed

I also used this thread when re-installing my OEM HT after removing my soft top. I wanted the hardtop to be secured using all the mounting points that the OEM specified. As an engineer myself designing systems, I put my trust in the people who took the time to design it. If someone wants to secure their roof using 66% of the fastening hardware, fine for them. I won't be doing that though.

You really don't need that plate to be honest. While it might be good for peice of mind, the 2 front bolts are plenty strong enough to hold the top down with the oem hardware. This comes from first hand experience, on andoff track at high speeds.

If you are using flimsy aftermarket hardware, that's a different story. You would want some of the brackets we sell specifically for soft top removal

Assuming the rest of the fasteners are being used (excluding two bolts on the rear brackets), then it's actually closer to 92%...but you're an engineer and already know that
