Depends if you are buying or selling. If you are selling,$1000 to me.

Well thats about what they cost new and considering that most used tops now should be in "as-new" condition, the price does seem kinda fair. At least, not outrageous......yet.

It's not ridiculous at all. It's an OEM part that was ~$4k new, was made in limited quantities, and is no longer produced which means what's out there is all there is. All of those factors = higher value. Sure it sucks that they're more expensive than they used to be, but s2000's in general are creeping back up in price as well. Good condition AP1's are going for $14k+ now.

I bought an 01 with 110k 4 years ago for 11k, I've seen pretty much the same thing go for the same or even more in the last 6 months.

As we go on in the years, the OEM tops will get more expensive to a point, I imagine they're nearing the highest sustainable value now, with companies like Challenge having full CF tops at $4k and Forbidden USA coming out with an OEM top around 2k in FRP the price won't go too much higher. It's all about supply (which there is a diminishing amount of) and demand (which is remaining fairly high due to the s2000 heading towards collector territory).

Sucks they jumped up in price like crazy now. Used to be $2500 now see many for sale for well over 3 grand. I should have stocked up on them when available lol.
